My endometriosis story: Part 2

So wanted to report back on my experience doing castor oil packs for my endometriosis flare-up. So much easier than I was anticipating. So what you need is a towel and pillow to lay on the floor, cotton cloth, castor oil ( I got mine from cytoplan ), a tub ( to put the cloth in after ), clingfilm to wrap around and a heat pad ( I used a hot water bottle ). They say the best thing to do is do them every night for 4-5 days in a row for at least 30 mins. I did mine for 5 days and an hour each time.

First thing you need to do is soak the cloth in castor oil. Saturated but not dripping. Lay on the towel on the floor ( I did mine whilst binge-watching the walking dead ). Drape the cloth over your abdomen. I placed mine more to my right side as this is where most of the pain is. Once in place wrap the clingfilm around you so it’s held in place. Felt like I was doing some type of fat loss experiment! Then you place the hot water bottle on top. Leave on for 30 mins at least. When you are finished simply put the cotton cloth back in tub ready for the next day. Add more castor oil where needed. After 5 days place the cloth in the wash.

Do not do this when you are on your menstrual bleed or after ovulation if you are trying to conceive.

I’m still waiting to see if it has made any difference this month to the pain I felt last month. Fingers crossed. Give it a go.

Take care
